Insurance Planning
Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU)
Insurance is a hedge, a bank, or a sponge. Life insurance can occasionally be all three at the same time. If your children are grown, or close to grown, and purchasing insurance makes sense in your situation (which is rarely the case), who owns it, the type of dollars that pay for it, and which specific need is being fulfilled are the criteria for whether a policy is in your best interest. We are both Registered Investment Advisors and experienced insurance “agents”. This holds us to the fiduciary standard as well as the suitability standard. There are many ways to purchase and fund insurance incorrectly. Many insurance agents do not realize this, we are asked to address this problem frequently via our relationship with a local corporate trustee.
